We just got new necklaces from our favorite ladies in Australia. Polli designers Maja Rose and Tess Lloyd have an amazing eye for style and are extremely skillful in jewelry making. They have gained inspiration from Japanese and Danish paper folding techniques to bring color and light into their pieces while using techniques often only used in the industrial fields. Many of their items are laser cut, and have intricate details. These pieces are truly beautiful, you must see them in person to get the full effect.

Verameat is one of our favorite jewelry designers. Originally from the Ukraine, now based in New York, Vera Balyura has a keen sense of design. Her pieces are fun and beautifully made. Each item can make any outfit pop!

It is great to find designers that fit in so well with our style at the MiniMiniMarket. Verameat is definitely one of these designers. We love items that are both quirky and beautiful. Take for instance a triple-finger vampire teeth ring. Tacky? NO! Verameat has managed to make vampire teeth jewelry items that are playful and fun, while also sexy and seductive. Less clothing in the summer means more….Accessorizing! Our latest shipment of jewelry is really knocking our socks off. Designers We Love: Made In Museum

Our love for jewelry goes deep at the Mini Mini Market, and we always on the hunt for some new designer that can make a piece of jewelry that sets our heart a fluttering. . . and the Italian designers, Made In Museum, have recently done so. Always wanting to take home the jewelry that they saw in the museums (um, who doesn’t? the Egyptian jewelry at the Met is alone to die for. . .?), the design team decided to make their own authentic and authorized reproductions of some of their favorite ancient pieces they were coveting. What unfolded were designs spanning across eras and eras. See the special historic pieces we’re carrying right now:

The Etruscan era is hard to get past, and we’re in love with these Bauletto earrings in sterling vermeil that are made from the ancient “lost wax” method and is treated with an antiquing process.

In the ancient Egyptian days, there seemed to probably be a lot of flies hanging around the desert and the people because if you look at the jewelry and the written language, flies even had their own hieroglyphic.

The fly motif in general found in Ancient Egypt and adopted in Ancient Rome, was thought to be a good luck charm and have various meanings including prosperity and tenacity.

From the Venezia collection, this horse ring was inspired in part by one of the classical era bronze and gilded horses located in the museum in St. Mark’s Cathedral Church. This sterling vermeil ring has the cool side note of part of its proceeds are given to the Venice International Foundation to support their work in art restoration projects in the civic museums in Venice.

We Heart This Designer: Ana Canadas

We have to give thanks where thanks are due, so we want to say thanks and recognize there’s probably no way we would have found out about our new favorite designer, Ana Canadas, without some help from Wunderbuzz. Check out the U.K. fashion blog, when you get a chance, you won’t be disappointed, but you also won’t be disappointed by the jewelry designs we found coming from U.K.-based Ana Canadas. Originally from Lisbon, Portugal, Ana Canadas gives her designs something for the mind to think about among all the silver and metal. We especially love her hair clips and bubble wand designs (see below), but her real power is in the various chain designs combined with the unexpected pendant gives this gal the upper hand in metalwork.

When I think about what words to come up with for this week’s featured “Accessory of the Week,” the words, “work it” come to mind. Something about this finger cat bling has got me bananas. Now, it needs to be said, that these rings are large and in charge, so if you’re more of the dainty kind of ring gal, then these tigers could seriously weigh you down. But if you’re in to cat power, then these are purring for your attention. The metal, the jewels and craftsmanship do carry a larger price tag (@$200), but serious metal these days means serious business.
